Narrative:
Off to 17000 ft we did not change our altimeter setting passing through 18000 ft and this resulted in a leveloff below 17000 ft by approximately 200-250 ft. We had WX and a high workload at the time of this deviation. On flight from dfw to ord, ZAU had us descend from FL370 to FL240 very rapidly to meet an altitude crossing restr. At FL260 we said that the descent would be tight. Center then descended us to 17000 ft. We failed to reset our altitude at FL180. Current altimeter was 29.67 so we leveled off at actual altitude of 16800 ft. We were very busy with duties and WX deviations.

Title: ALTDEV ALT OVERSHOT. ACR DSNDING THROUGH FL180 DOES NOT RESET THE ALTIMETER AND LEVELS OFF AT THE ASSIGNED ALT ON ITS INSTS, BUT THE CTLRS CORRECTLY QUESTION THEIR ACTUAL ALT.
