Narrative:
We landed on runway 22R at ord. Exited left onto taxiway G and notified ground we were going to gate. Ground told us to turn right on taxiway B. Our company uses gates at H and G concourses which are situated identically on the appropriate sides of their respective concourses. Approaching the G concourse we inadvertently turned from taxiway B prematurely under the assumption it was the H concourse. We discovered the mistake in time and turned right onto taxiway a and proceeded to our gate. No harm, no foul and no conflict. We tried to notify ground control, but the frequency was congested. Just one of life's embarrassing moments. Neither one of us realized we were turning one concourse short until the turn was committed to. Then I chose the path of least resistance to correct the error and prevent creating a traffic jam. Another dry at the O'hare airport.

Title: DEV FROM CLRNC RTE. TAXI PROC. ACR MADE A WRONG TURN DURING TAXI IN AND THEN ADJUSTS RTE TO ARRIVE AT THE CORRECT GATE WITHOUT INFORMING GND CTL.
Narrative: WE LANDED ON RWY 22R AT ORD. EXITED L ONTO TXWY G AND NOTIFIED GND WE WERE GOING TO GATE. GND TOLD US TO TURN R ON TXWY B. OUR COMPANY USES GATES AT H AND G CONCOURSES WHICH ARE SITUATED IDENTICALLY ON THE APPROPRIATE SIDES OF THEIR RESPECTIVE CONCOURSES. APCHING THE G CONCOURSE WE INADVERTENTLY TURNED FROM TXWY B PREMATURELY UNDER THE ASSUMPTION IT WAS THE H CONCOURSE. WE DISCOVERED THE MISTAKE IN TIME AND TURNED R ONTO TXWY A AND PROCEEDED TO OUR GATE. NO HARM, NO FOUL AND NO CONFLICT. WE TRIED TO NOTIFY GND CTL, BUT THE FREQ WAS CONGESTED. JUST ONE OF LIFE'S EMBARRASSING MOMENTS. NEITHER ONE OF US REALIZED WE WERE TURNING ONE CONCOURSE SHORT UNTIL THE TURN WAS COMMITTED TO. THEN I CHOSE THE PATH OF LEAST RESISTANCE TO CORRECT THE ERROR AND PREVENT CREATING A TFC JAM. ANOTHER DRY AT THE O'HARE ARPT.
