Narrative:
Flight clt-avl, flight plan filed, clt svg avl. Clearance delivery gave us the hornet SID which calls for 250 KTS until advised by ATC. Flight plan altitude filed for 8000 ft. After departure we had to deviate off the SID for WX, after clearing WX we were given direct gsp-avl. I requested 10000 ft to accelerate to 320 KTS. We were given 10000 ft and proceeded to 320 KTS. Reaching, the controller asked what was our indicated and reminded us about the restr. I didn't feel like we were on the SID because of the rerte and deviations. Of course we were though. We slowed back to 250 KTS, proceeded to avl without further incident. A lot happens quickly on such a short flight. When we leveled off at 8000 ft our minds shifted to the cruise mode and the departure mode was history. We were already thinking about the arrival into avl.

Narrative: FLT CLT-AVL, FLT PLAN FILED, CLT SVG AVL. CLRNC DELIVERY GAVE US THE HORNET SID WHICH CALLS FOR 250 KTS UNTIL ADVISED BY ATC. FLT PLAN ALT FILED FOR 8000 FT. AFTER DEP WE HAD TO DEVIATE OFF THE SID FOR WX, AFTER CLRING WX WE WERE GIVEN DIRECT GSP-AVL. I REQUESTED 10000 FT TO ACCELERATE TO 320 KTS. WE WERE GIVEN 10000 FT AND PROCEEDED TO 320 KTS. REACHING, THE CTLR ASKED WHAT WAS OUR INDICATED AND REMINDED US ABOUT THE RESTR. I DIDN'T FEEL LIKE WE WERE ON THE SID BECAUSE OF THE RERTE AND DEVS. OF COURSE WE WERE THOUGH. WE SLOWED BACK TO 250 KTS, PROCEEDED TO AVL WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. A LOT HAPPENS QUICKLY ON SUCH A SHORT FLT.
