Narrative:
Training in progress and developmental was doing fine. The traffic was moderate then decreased. Trainer got distracted by a question from controller in charge dealing with strip marking and also had to have a handoff coordinated with tower. When trainer looked back the situation had developed with the C12 descending into the navajo. Corrective action was taken but too late. From distrs, the trainer missed the altitude given to C12.
