Narrative:

In foggy, hazy morning at youngstown airport while talking with ground controller and asking for help taxiing to runway because I was unfamiliar with the field, I passed the hold short line to the runway by about 20-30 ft. After noticing this, I called the controller and asked 'do I cross here?' he said 'no, you have passed the hold short line.' he then instructed me to contact tower when ready to go and that was the end of it. There was no other traffic either on the ground or landing, and no incident occurred with any other aircraft.
