Narrative:
During takeoff roll, airplane veered left, applying right rudder did not correct aircraft attitude, takeoff was aborted, but aircraft proceeded to strike hangar. Purpose of flight: demonstration to potential buyer. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the rptrs were flying a bellanca citabria. Even though the insurance company wrote off the aircraft, this occurrence was classified as an 'incident' by the FAA. Both pilots were re-examined by the FAA, the front seat pilot got an oral examination and does not know the results of the examination of the owner-pilot. The front seat pilot was not the PIC. The FAA determined that 'nobody was flying' the aircraft. There was no wind at takeoff time. Supplemental information from acn 312004: I let a prospective purchaser of the aircraft fly the airplane. The pilot lost control of the airplane completely and I could not gain control from the rear seat. The airplane plowed into a hangar just west of runway 36. LL10 has a narrow (30 ft) runway.

Title: LOSS OF ACFT CTL LEADS TO A RWY EXCURSION.
Narrative: DURING TKOF ROLL, AIRPLANE VEERED L, APPLYING R RUDDER DID NOT CORRECT ACFT ATTITUDE, TKOF WAS ABORTED, BUT ACFT PROCEEDED TO STRIKE HANGAR. PURPOSE OF FLT: DEMONSTRATION TO POTENTIAL BUYER. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTRS WERE FLYING A BELLANCA CITABRIA. EVEN THOUGH THE INSURANCE COMPANY WROTE OFF THE ACFT, THIS OCCURRENCE WAS CLASSIFIED AS AN 'INCIDENT' BY THE FAA. BOTH PLTS WERE RE-EXAMINED BY THE FAA, THE FRONT SEAT PLT GOT AN ORAL EXAM AND DOES NOT KNOW THE RESULTS OF THE EXAM OF THE OWNER-PLT. THE FRONT SEAT PLT WAS NOT THE PIC. THE FAA DETERMINED THAT 'NOBODY WAS FLYING' THE ACFT. THERE WAS NO WIND AT TKOF TIME. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 312004: I LET A PROSPECTIVE PURCHASER OF THE ACFT FLY THE AIRPLANE. THE PLT LOST CTL OF THE AIRPLANE COMPLETELY AND I COULD NOT GAIN CTL FROM THE REAR SEAT. THE AIRPLANE PLOWED INTO A HANGAR JUST W OF RWY 36. LL10 HAS A NARROW (30 FT) RWY.
