Narrative:

No accident/incident involved, but good information. On a recent flight from dfw, immediately after takeoff, the cabin filled with a strong smell best described as that of a wet dog thrown on hot coals. The smell was so intense that flight attendant felt it necessary to break sterile period. #1 noted that it was even stronger in the cockpit than in the cabin. At a loss, we told her to turn off all ovens. The smell cleared after 15 mins. On next am walkaround, a bird strike was discovered in the left engine. The engine was bore-scoped, and the flight canceled pending an engine change.
