Narrative:
Cleared for VOR 17 approach to crp. ATC gave an altitude restr (later deleted) and instruction to continue procedure turn outbound (which I missed). My student flew the approach and, as we were joining the final approach course from the procedure turn, ATC inquired if we were inbound. I stated we were and they told me I should still be outbound. No excuse for this -- despite this was the student's first instrument hop. I should have been more vigilant.
