Narrative:
Climbing out of ord on ord departure control, the captain was hand flying the airplane when he noticed flight director had not captured the set altitude 5000 ft. He corrected with appropriate pitch control and no conflict occurred. We had deviated by approximately 330 ft.

Title: FLT DIRECTOR FAILED TO CAPTURE THE SELECTED ALT. ALTDEV ALT OVERSHOT.
Narrative: CLBING OUT OF ORD ON ORD DEP CTL, THE CAPT WAS HAND FLYING THE AIRPLANE WHEN HE NOTICED FLT DIRECTOR HAD NOT CAPTURED THE SET ALT 5000 FT. HE CORRECTED WITH APPROPRIATE PITCH CTL AND NO CONFLICT OCCURRED. WE HAD DEVIATED BY APPROX 330 FT.
