Narrative:
Taxied through a hold short line, causing ATC to issue go around to another aircraft. I did not taxi onto the runway, but did go past the hold line. ATC corrected me and asked that I call the tower at engine shutdown. I called tower and discussed the error with them, and on their suggestion, talked with a safety counselor at hgr. Each phase of flight deserves absolute attention, not allowing distrs to hamper safety. After noticing the error I should have immediately contacted the tower to clarify the situation and to obtain corrective instructions.
