Narrative:
First time to fly the walet 7 arrival to mem I thought that an assigned heading was given and did not make the 355 degree turn at 8 DME. Controller turned us at 5 mi. No conflict noted. Supplemental information from acn 315200: I was second in command and it was not my leg to fly, I was doing the PNF duties! We were busy in the cockpit and flew past the 8 DME turn to 355 degree on the arrival. It was 5 DME when we initiated a turn to 335 degree on the controller's request. He was upset, you could tell by the sound of his voice.
