Narrative:

After departing mankato airport, I noticed the right engine cylinder head temperature was near the redline, but the oil temperature/pressure indications were normal. I told the controller I would like to return to mkt for landing to check it out, and I was cleared for the visual approach. Upon landing, the needle returned to a normal position. On the ground I did an extended run up of the right engine, and all gauges read normal. I viewed it as a stuck needle, and not an engine problem. I then got a new clearance, and departed the airport. The high temperature indication was not repeated and the flight was completed without further incident.
