Narrative:

After gear retraction, the tailskid light remained on following normal takeoff. Checklist was complied with. The post landing inspection made of the tailskid revealed tailskid door hanging from front hinges. The safety wire chain and the tailskid shear clip were fully intact on the tailskid strut. The tailskid door was detached from the tailskid strut and all the rivets were missing on the attachment fitting. I have concluded that prior damage to the rivets eventually culminated in failure of the attachment point between the tailskid door and the tailskid strut upon gear retraction.

Title: TAILSKID DOOR BECOMES DETACHED FROM TAILSKID STRUT ON TKOF.

Narrative: AFTER GEAR RETRACTION, THE TAILSKID LIGHT REMAINED ON FOLLOWING NORMAL TKOF. CHKLIST WAS COMPLIED WITH. THE POST LNDG INSPECTION MADE OF THE TAILSKID REVEALED TAILSKID DOOR HANGING FROM FRONT HINGES. I HAVE CONCLUDED THAT PRIOR DAMAGE TO THE RIVETS EVENTUALLY CULMINATED IN FAILURE OF THE ATTACHMENT POINT BTWN THE TAILSKID DOOR AND THE TAILSKID STRUT UPON GEAR RETRACTION.
