Narrative:
At boi gate agent allowed jetway to contact bottom of aircraft entrance door. Upon inspection, captain discovered no apparent damage other than some stress cracks on the door bottom trim molding. Door closed and sealed normally and light extinguished. Maintenance was notified by captain of situation (I believe). Upon arrival in msp after door was opened, the door hold-open latching hook was discovered broken lying in jetway. Apparently it cracked from stress of jetway in boi on door and failed when door was latched open against fuselage in msp. Aircraft was removed from service. In the future I would make sure that there was no chance of any hidden damage to components of the aircraft if it should come into contact with ground equipment. Also, I would not accept an airplane by merely talking with maintenance on the phone. I would have a mechanic physically inspect the suspect component.

Title: FLC FLEW ACFT WITHOUT GETTING DAMAGED DOOR SIGNED OFF BY MAINT.
Narrative: AT BOI GATE AGENT ALLOWED JETWAY TO CONTACT BOTTOM OF ACFT ENTRANCE DOOR. UPON INSPECTION, CAPT DISCOVERED NO APPARENT DAMAGE OTHER THAN SOME STRESS CRACKS ON THE DOOR BOTTOM TRIM MOLDING. DOOR CLOSED AND SEALED NORMALLY AND LIGHT EXTINGUISHED. MAINT WAS NOTIFIED BY CAPT OF SIT (I BELIEVE). UPON ARR IN MSP AFTER DOOR WAS OPENED, THE DOOR HOLD-OPEN LATCHING HOOK WAS DISCOVERED BROKEN LYING IN JETWAY. APPARENTLY IT CRACKED FROM STRESS OF JETWAY IN BOI ON DOOR AND FAILED WHEN DOOR WAS LATCHED OPEN AGAINST FUSELAGE IN MSP. ACFT WAS REMOVED FROM SVC. IN THE FUTURE I WOULD MAKE SURE THAT THERE WAS NO CHANCE OF ANY HIDDEN DAMAGE TO COMPONENTS OF THE ACFT IF IT SHOULD COME INTO CONTACT WITH GND EQUIP. ALSO, I WOULD NOT ACCEPT AN AIRPLANE BY MERELY TALKING WITH MAINT ON THE PHONE. I WOULD HAVE A MECH PHYSICALLY INSPECT THE SUSPECT COMPONENT.
