Narrative:
The problem arose when I took someone sightseeing. It was clear VFR and no wind. This person wanted to fly near the statue of liberty. I then flew down the hudson river, underneath the class B of new york. I flew between 1000 ft and 500 ft AGL after passing the george washington bridge. After I returned to my home airport, I was told by fellow flight instructors that they had heard there were temporary flight restrs for the excursion. I had called, earlier in the day, the millville flight service station for a WX briefing. However, I did not anticipate flying down the excursion. As a result, the briefer did not inform me of the restrs. This was of no fault of the briefer. I failed to request these restrs because I was unaware of them. The only thing I can think of to prevent something like this from happening again, is to have control towers aware of restrs such as these. In turn, they might be able to forewarn pilots of the restrs and advise them to call the nearest FSS. I blame only myself for neglecting to obtain the appropriate information. I do not hold the FSS or the controllers responsible for my actions.

Title: ERRONEOUS PENETRATION OF TEMPORARY FLT RESTR AREA ALONG HUDSON RIVER CORRIDOR NEAR TEB.
Narrative: THE PROB AROSE WHEN I TOOK SOMEONE SIGHTSEEING. IT WAS CLR VFR AND NO WIND. THIS PERSON WANTED TO FLY NEAR THE STATUE OF LIBERTY. I THEN FLEW DOWN THE HUDSON RIVER, UNDERNEATH THE CLASS B OF NEW YORK. I FLEW BTWN 1000 FT AND 500 FT AGL AFTER PASSING THE GEORGE WASHINGTON BRIDGE. AFTER I RETURNED TO MY HOME ARPT, I WAS TOLD BY FELLOW FLT INSTRUCTORS THAT THEY HAD HEARD THERE WERE TEMPORARY FLT RESTRS FOR THE EXCURSION. I HAD CALLED, EARLIER IN THE DAY, THE MILLVILLE FLT SVC STATION FOR A WX BRIEFING. THE ONLY THING I CAN THINK OF TO PREVENT SOMETHING LIKE THIS FROM HAPPENING AGAIN, IS TO HAVE CTL TWRS AWARE OF RESTRS SUCH AS THESE. IN TURN, THEY MIGHT BE ABLE TO FOREWARN PLTS OF THE RESTRS AND ADVISE THEM TO CALL THE NEAREST FSS. I BLAME ONLY MYSELF FOR NEGLECTING TO OBTAIN THE APPROPRIATE INFO. I DO NOT HOLD THE FSS OR THE CTLRS RESPONSIBLE FOR MY ACTIONS.
