Air Traffic Incident | Pilot Deviation |
Narrative:
Flight had an altitude deviation of 1000 ft climbing out of mco en route to srq. The reason for the deviation was due to the wrong barometric pressure setting on the captain's altimeter. The setting was 28.84 but should have been 29.84. The problem was discovered by TCASII warning 'stop climb.' the conflict traffic was missed by 300 ft vertical and about 2 mi horizontal. As a corrective measure I would suggest a xchk of altimeters on the before starting engine checklist.
