Narrative:
During approach into rdu airport with minimums reported (although it was better than the ATIS was reporting). The copilot was flying the approach. Both GS's 'came alive' at the same. After GS capture the PF called for 'gear down, landing checklist.' the PNF did the checklist then looked at the PF's GS which showed the plane was on GS and localizer. Then the PNF checked his own gauges which showed a nearly full deflection on the GS. The PNF crosschecked this with his altimeter and called 'level off, stop the descent.' at this point the plane was about 300 ft AGL and still on localizer. The tower came on the radio at this point and said we show (or have?) an altitude alert. Before the PNF could respond we cleared the clouds about 1/2 mi from the end of the runway and a normal landing was made. After landing the copilot GS was placarded OTS per the company MEL.

Title: CFIT.
Narrative: DURING APCH INTO RDU ARPT WITH MINIMUMS RPTED (ALTHOUGH IT WAS BETTER THAN THE ATIS WAS RPTING). THE COPLT WAS FLYING THE APCH. BOTH GS'S 'CAME ALIVE' AT THE SAME. AFTER GS CAPTURE THE PF CALLED FOR 'GEAR DOWN, LNDG CHKLIST.' THE PNF DID THE CHKLIST THEN LOOKED AT THE PF'S GS WHICH SHOWED THE PLANE WAS ON GS AND LOC. THEN THE PNF CHKED HIS OWN GAUGES WHICH SHOWED A NEARLY FULL DEFLECTION ON THE GS. THE PNF XCHKED THIS WITH HIS ALTIMETER AND CALLED 'LEVEL OFF, STOP THE DSCNT.' AT THIS POINT THE PLANE WAS ABOUT 300 FT AGL AND STILL ON LOC. THE TWR CAME ON THE RADIO AT THIS POINT AND SAID WE SHOW (OR HAVE?) AN ALT ALERT. BEFORE THE PNF COULD RESPOND WE CLRED THE CLOUDS ABOUT 1/2 MI FROM THE END OF THE RWY AND A NORMAL LNDG WAS MADE. AFTER LNDG THE COPLT GS WAS PLACARDED OTS PER THE COMPANY MEL.
