Narrative:
Was just handed off by grand canyon tower to ZLA. Had just checked in with ZLA with an altitude restr given in an amended clearance before takeoff of 10000 ft. We were approaching 10000 ft when center radar idented and cleared us to FL230. We then continued the climb without interruption. Center accused us of passing through 10000 ft before receiving clearance for higher. This was not the case. Our climb rate was 5000 FPM and the next sweep of the radar must have surprised him so soon after giving us the clearance. To our knowledge there was no loss of separation or other traffic. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter states there has been no follow up action. Report was filed because controller seemed 'rather testy' and flight crew was concerned. In the conversation with controller he stated 'you got there rather fast after I cleared you' to which reporter responded, we just continued our climb and did not level off. Controller seemed to accept that.

Title: AIR TAXI ACFT ALLEGED TO HAVE PASSED 10000 FT PRIOR TO CLRNC ABOVE.
Narrative: WAS JUST HANDED OFF BY GRAND CANYON TWR TO ZLA. HAD JUST CHKED IN WITH ZLA WITH AN ALT RESTR GIVEN IN AN AMENDED CLRNC BEFORE TKOF OF 10000 FT. WE WERE APCHING 10000 FT WHEN CTR RADAR IDENTED AND CLRED US TO FL230. WE THEN CONTINUED THE CLB WITHOUT INTERRUPTION. CTR ACCUSED US OF PASSING THROUGH 10000 FT BEFORE RECEIVING CLRNC FOR HIGHER. THIS WAS NOT THE CASE. OUR CLB RATE WAS 5000 FPM AND THE NEXT SWEEP OF THE RADAR MUST HAVE SURPRISED HIM SO SOON AFTER GIVING US THE CLRNC. TO OUR KNOWLEDGE THERE WAS NO LOSS OF SEPARATION OR OTHER TFC. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATES THERE HAS BEEN NO FOLLOW UP ACTION. RPT WAS FILED BECAUSE CTLR SEEMED 'RATHER TESTY' AND FLC WAS CONCERNED. IN THE CONVERSATION WITH CTLR HE STATED 'YOU GOT THERE RATHER FAST AFTER I CLRED YOU' TO WHICH RPTR RESPONDED, WE JUST CONTINUED OUR CLB AND DID NOT LEVEL OFF. CTLR SEEMED TO ACCEPT THAT.
