Narrative:

Failure to set barometric pressure on altimeters while descending through 18000 ft caused level off at 15000 ft, 500 ft low. ZOB advised us 500 ft low, and we immediately corrected. Distraction and workload permitted this as we were first to hold at cxr for WX then before we got there, changed hold to keatn due to thunderstorms in area. I was not on frequency as I was advising the passenger on the PA about the holding. Supplemental information from acn 320789: during descent from FL210 to 15000 ft, right at the transition altitude ZOB started giving us hold instructions at cxr, then going on about changing the holding fix to keatn due to WX moving across cle. Then they changed the holding fix to keatn intersection and issued new holding instructions. During all this we failed to reset altimeters to qnh and inadvertently descended to 14500 ft MSL before resetting altimeters, and climbing back to 15000 ft MSL. I would suggest more concise instructions with less conversation during high workload times.

Title: FK10 FLC FAILED TO RESET ALTIMETERS DURING DSCNT THROUGH FL180. FLC DISTR HOLDING INSTRUCTIONS PAX ANNOUNCEMENTS. ALTDEV ALT OVERSHOT.

Narrative: FAILURE TO SET BAROMETRIC PRESSURE ON ALTIMETERS WHILE DSNDING THROUGH 18000 FT CAUSED LEVEL OFF AT 15000 FT, 500 FT LOW. ZOB ADVISED US 500 FT LOW, AND WE IMMEDIATELY CORRECTED. DISTR AND WORKLOAD PERMITTED THIS AS WE WERE FIRST TO HOLD AT CXR FOR WX THEN BEFORE WE GOT THERE, CHANGED HOLD TO KEATN DUE TO TSTMS IN AREA. I WAS NOT ON FREQ AS I WAS ADVISING THE PAX ON THE PA ABOUT THE HOLDING. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 320789: DURING DSCNT FROM FL210 TO 15000 FT, RIGHT AT THE TRANSITION ALT ZOB STARTED GIVING US HOLD INSTRUCTIONS AT CXR, THEN GOING ON ABOUT CHANGING THE HOLDING FIX TO KEATN DUE TO WX MOVING ACROSS CLE. THEN THEY CHANGED THE HOLDING FIX TO KEATN INTXN AND ISSUED NEW HOLDING INSTRUCTIONS. DURING ALL THIS WE FAILED TO RESET ALTIMETERS TO QNH AND INADVERTENTLY DSNDED TO 14500 FT MSL BEFORE RESETTING ALTIMETERS, AND CLBING BACK TO 15000 FT MSL. I WOULD SUGGEST MORE CONCISE INSTRUCTIONS WITH LESS CONVERSATION DURING HIGH WORKLOAD TIMES.
