Narrative:
As number 2 engine approached takeoff power setting on the takeoff roll it made a popping sound and the number 2 engine failed. The takeoff was immediately aborted. The engine lost all power, there was no fire. All checklist and procedures regarding an engine failure were completed. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter so had no further feedback from the company regarding the engine failure other than it was reported that aft of the 6TH stage compressor, all trailing engine areas were damaged.

Title: NUMBER 2 ENG FAILED DURING TKOF. ABORTED. 6TH STAGE COMPRESSOR AND AFT DAMAGED.
Narrative: AS NUMBER 2 ENG APCHED TKOF PWR SETTING ON THE TKOF ROLL IT MADE A POPPING SOUND AND THE NUMBER 2 ENG FAILED. THE TKOF WAS IMMEDIATELY ABORTED. THE ENG LOST ALL PWR, THERE WAS NO FIRE. ALL CHKLIST AND PROCS REGARDING AN ENG FAILURE WERE COMPLETED. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR SO HAD NO FURTHER FEEDBACK FROM THE COMPANY REGARDING THE ENG FAILURE OTHER THAN IT WAS RPTED THAT AFT OF THE 6TH STAGE COMPRESSOR, ALL TRAILING ENG AREAS WERE DAMAGED.
