Narrative:
While being marshalled away from the gate in mht, the tail section of the ATR brushed the commuter walkway causing a 16 inch scrape and a small dent in the tail cone. The crew never felt the plane hit the walkway and proceeded with the flight normally. Once airborne, the crew called operations to relay out/off times and were then advised of the mishap. The crew decided to return to mht and have the plane inspected by maintenance personnel. The flight landed without further incident. Corrective actions: 1) pull commuter walkway away from aircraft before marshalling away from gate. 2) have 2 people marshall aircraft from gate -- 'have 1 wing walker, minimum.' 3) better training in marshalling aircraft.

Title: WHILE BEING GUIDED AWAY FROM THE GATE BY A MARSHALL THE RPTR'S ATR42 TAIL CONE STRUCK A PAX WALKWAY. THE RPTR WAS NOT INFORMED UNTIL AFTER TKOF. THE RPTR RETURNED AND LANDED FOR MAINT INSPECTION.
Narrative: WHILE BEING MARSHALLED AWAY FROM THE GATE IN MHT, THE TAIL SECTION OF THE ATR BRUSHED THE COMMUTER WALKWAY CAUSING A 16 INCH SCRAPE AND A SMALL DENT IN THE TAIL CONE. THE CREW NEVER FELT THE PLANE HIT THE WALKWAY AND PROCEEDED WITH THE FLT NORMALLY. ONCE AIRBORNE, THE CREW CALLED OPS TO RELAY OUT/OFF TIMES AND WERE THEN ADVISED OF THE MISHAP. THE CREW DECIDED TO RETURN TO MHT AND HAVE THE PLANE INSPECTED BY MAINT PERSONNEL. THE FLT LANDED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. CORRECTIVE ACTIONS: 1) PULL COMMUTER WALKWAY AWAY FROM ACFT BEFORE MARSHALLING AWAY FROM GATE. 2) HAVE 2 PEOPLE MARSHALL ACFT FROM GATE -- 'HAVE 1 WING WALKER, MINIMUM.' 3) BETTER TRAINING IN MARSHALLING ACFT.
