Narrative:
In cruise, lead flight attendant advised cockpit crew that a passenger had 'passed out' twice, and as a result, had fallen against a storage compartment door in rear of cabin. (Door was ripped from hinges). A medical doctor was summoned and located, and she provided medical attention. Emergency medical kit was used to check blood pressure. A copy of the emk usage report is enclosed. Flight crew requested that paramedics meet aircraft in lga. No special ATC handling was requested because ATC had already given us 'best forward speed.' had they (ATC) not done that, we would have requested special handling. Upon arrival at lga, passenger declined medical attention and eventually walked off aircraft. 2 bottles oxygen used in flight. Sits like this can create distractions for flight crew, and if care is not used, the crew can direct attention away from the task of flying the aircraft. This did not happen -- probably due to CRM training and the fact that the flight attendants did a good job of keeping us informed without our having to ask for information.

Title: FLC OBTAINED BEST FORWARD SPD FROM ATC TO LAND AT DEST AS SOON AS POSSIBLE FOR MEDICAL HELP FOR A SICK PAX.
Narrative: IN CRUISE, LEAD FLT ATTENDANT ADVISED COCKPIT CREW THAT A PAX HAD 'PASSED OUT' TWICE, AND AS A RESULT, HAD FALLEN AGAINST A STORAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR IN REAR OF CABIN. (DOOR WAS RIPPED FROM HINGES). A MEDICAL DOCTOR WAS SUMMONED AND LOCATED, AND SHE PROVIDED MEDICAL ATTN. EMER MEDICAL KIT WAS USED TO CHK BLOOD PRESSURE. A COPY OF THE EMK USAGE RPT IS ENCLOSED. FLC REQUESTED THAT PARAMEDICS MEET ACFT IN LGA. NO SPECIAL ATC HANDLING WAS REQUESTED BECAUSE ATC HAD ALREADY GIVEN US 'BEST FORWARD SPD.' HAD THEY (ATC) NOT DONE THAT, WE WOULD HAVE REQUESTED SPECIAL HANDLING. UPON ARR AT LGA, PAX DECLINED MEDICAL ATTN AND EVENTUALLY WALKED OFF ACFT. 2 BOTTLES OXYGEN USED IN FLT. SITS LIKE THIS CAN CREATE DISTRACTIONS FOR FLC, AND IF CARE IS NOT USED, THE CREW CAN DIRECT ATTN AWAY FROM THE TASK OF FLYING THE ACFT. THIS DID NOT HAPPEN -- PROBABLY DUE TO CRM TRAINING AND THE FACT THAT THE FLT ATTENDANTS DID A GOOD JOB OF KEEPING US INFORMED WITHOUT OUR HAVING TO ASK FOR INFO.
