Narrative:
Flight departed elm for bgm, scheduled operation. Shortly after departure we were informed by company that 2 passenger for bgm had mistakenly deplaned in elm, and we were requested to return for them. I (captain/PF) elected to return, and I believe asked PNF to tell station personnel to contact dispatchers with that information. Flight landed elm, boarded 2 passenger, updated the aircraft weight and balance form, determined that we still met the conditions of the original release, and departed again for bgm. On arrival in bgm I was contacted by dispatch and informed that my departure without being re- released may have been a violation of FARS, which hadn't occurred to me previously. In retrospect, I suspect that we as a crew were preoccupied with 'running the aircraft,' accomplishing a rapid turnaround of a flight which was already running late, and that combined with our fatigue at the end of a trip, and our eagerness to 'help out' both the 2 passenger and the station personnel, resulted in our oversight of the re-dispatch requirement. Looking back, I believe our operation of the aircraft was nearly flawless, and strictly in accordance with SOP. But in fixating on that task, we overlooked another factor which required our attention. The old adage 'when you're late, slow down' fits here, for had we not been trying to catch up, we likely would have rþmembered that requirement.

Title: MDT INFORMED THAT 2 PAX WERE LEFT BEHIND SO THEY RETURN TO ARPT TO PICK THEM UP. FLC DOES COMPUTE WT AND BAL BUT FAILS TO OBTAIN A RE-RELEASE PRIOR TO TKOF.
Narrative: FLT DEPARTED ELM FOR BGM, SCHEDULED OP. SHORTLY AFTER DEP WE WERE INFORMED BY COMPANY THAT 2 PAX FOR BGM HAD MISTAKENLY DEPLANED IN ELM, AND WE WERE REQUESTED TO RETURN FOR THEM.
