Narrative:
On arrival in elp XD59 local jan/fri/96, ground personnel discovered an approximately 3/4 inch tear in the skin of the aircraft in the aft edge of the door frame of the aft cargo bin. The first officer completed a preflight inspection of the aircraft in atlanta upon arrival of the aircraft at approximately XA00 local and noted no damage at this time, therefore, damage is estimated to have happened after this time. The first officer states that the cargo loaders were up to the airplane at the time of this exterior inspection. Further passenger service was discontinued upon discovery of the skin tear in elp and all requirements for ferry flight to dfw were met.
