Narrative:
I will describe the normal pattern for tow planes and glider operations. This description will include the departure to the point of the near miss. I was climbing along ridge about 500 ft north of ridge line at an altitude of about 1000 ft with glider in tow. The conflicting airplane was descending from the ridge northbound. When he overflew me he was in a right hand pullup to avoid me. My glider in tow was forced to dive to the right and release. Because my wing was blocking my view to the left I did not see other airplane until I felt it overfly me and my glider take evasive action. All 3 aircraft landed immediately and discussed situation. We were all pretty shaky and felt lucky. Issue was discussed and potential solutions brought up. Because of the heavy traffic at times in a small area, perhaps a designated descending area should be made.

Title: NMAC BTWN AN ACFT TOWING A GLIDER CLBING NEAR A RIDGE LINE ADJACENT TO THE ARPT AND ANOTHER ACFT DSNDING FOR ENTERING THE TFC PATTERN.
Narrative: I WILL DESCRIBE THE NORMAL PATTERN FOR TOW PLANES AND GLIDER OPS. THIS DESCRIPTION WILL INCLUDE THE DEP TO THE POINT OF THE NEAR MISS. I WAS CLBING ALONG RIDGE ABOUT 500 FT N OF RIDGE LINE AT AN ALT OF ABOUT 1000 FT WITH GLIDER IN TOW. THE CONFLICTING AIRPLANE WAS DSNDING FROM THE RIDGE NBOUND. WHEN HE OVERFLEW ME HE WAS IN A R HAND PULLUP TO AVOID ME. MY GLIDER IN TOW WAS FORCED TO DIVE TO THE R AND RELEASE. BECAUSE MY WING WAS BLOCKING MY VIEW TO THE L I DID NOT SEE OTHER AIRPLANE UNTIL I FELT IT OVERFLY ME AND MY GLIDER TAKE EVASIVE ACTION. ALL 3 ACFT LANDED IMMEDIATELY AND DISCUSSED SIT.
