Narrative:

Cleared to taxi to runway 33 at det. Stopped short of runway 33. Must not have seen hold short line or sign because when we contacted tower for the takeoff, tower instructed us to continue holding short and stated 'be advised you taxied past the hold line.' we asked if they wanted us to taxi across to the other side and they said no. There was no traffic other than us either taking off or landing.

WE ASKED IF THEY WANTED US TO TAXI ACROSS TO THE OTHER SIDE AND THEY SAID NO. THERE WAS NO TFC OTHER THAN US EITHER TAKING OFF OR LNDG.
