Narrative:
Several aircraft on final approach said the ceiling differed by 800 ft from what was reported on the ATIS. The ASOS was reporting a ceiling M15 overcast and aircraft were reporting the ceiling closer to 7 overcast. Different ceiling indications between the ASOS and pilot reports seem to be a frequent problem at dfw in the past couple of months.
