Narrative:
We were 'cleared visual runway 24R at lax.' we were on downwind. Approach also said, 'keep your turn tight inside the air carrier X B747 landing on runway 24L.' as the PNF in the right seat I could additionally see an air carrier Y B727 ahead of the B747 slightly, but from our angle it was virtually impossible to determine to which of the four parallel runways the B727 was lining up to land. Upon our lining up on final we could see that the B727 was also on visual to runway 24R, and we attempted in vain to obtain adequate spacing. At approximately 300 ft AGL we went around because the air carrier Y had not cleared the runway. During the go around we performed all of our associated checklists, and had to contact 2 different approach controllers. From a position on downwind we were 'cleared visual, contact lax tower at romen.' due to the rush of activities, I forgot to initiate the call to tower at romen. Upon touchdown I realized my error and quickly contacted them. In short, I made the mistake of failing to contact the tower. However, the captain and I both agreed that this would not have happened in normal circumstances, but we were each fatigued. One of the unfortunate but necessary aspects of being on 'reserve' is that it is possible to find oneself flying a somewhat 'erratic' schedule. The incident occurred on the fifth of six segments on that day. I personally was fatigued.

Title: FLC OF AN MLG LANDED WITHOUT CLRNC AFTER COMPLETING A GAR FOR TFC SEPARATION.
Narrative: WE WERE 'CLRED VISUAL RWY 24R AT LAX.' WE WERE ON DOWNWIND. APCH ALSO SAID, 'KEEP YOUR TURN TIGHT INSIDE THE ACR X B747 LNDG ON RWY 24L.' AS THE PNF IN THE R SEAT I COULD ADDITIONALLY SEE AN ACR Y B727 AHEAD OF THE B747 SLIGHTLY, BUT FROM OUR ANGLE IT WAS VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO DETERMINE TO WHICH OF THE FOUR PARALLEL RWYS THE B727 WAS LINING UP TO LAND. UPON OUR LINING UP ON FINAL WE COULD SEE THAT THE B727 WAS ALSO ON VISUAL TO RWY 24R, AND WE ATTEMPTED IN VAIN TO OBTAIN ADEQUATE SPACING. AT APPROX 300 FT AGL WE WENT AROUND BECAUSE THE ACR Y HAD NOT CLRED THE RWY. DURING THE GAR WE PERFORMED ALL OF OUR ASSOCIATED CHKLISTS, AND HAD TO CONTACT 2 DIFFERENT APCH CTLRS. FROM A POS ON DOWNWIND WE WERE 'CLRED VISUAL, CONTACT LAX TWR AT ROMEN.' DUE TO THE RUSH OF ACTIVITIES, I FORGOT TO INITIATE THE CALL TO TWR AT ROMEN. UPON TOUCHDOWN I REALIZED MY ERROR AND QUICKLY CONTACTED THEM. IN SHORT, I MADE THE MISTAKE OF FAILING TO CONTACT THE TWR. HOWEVER, THE CAPT AND I BOTH AGREED THAT THIS WOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED IN NORMAL CIRCUMSTANCES, BUT WE WERE EACH FATIGUED.
