Narrative:
Scheduled cargo flight from rbg to eug. Checked in with approach 25 mi south and was given squawk. A few mins later air carrier airlines checked in and I was given his position behind me. Later I was given another position '4 O'clock and 3 mi.' at about 7000 ft I reported him in sight. Originally my altitude was 2500 ft and I had descended to about 2000 ft and was told I was to follow him to the airport #2. About 10 mi out we were both switched to tower and I was again told to follow him cleared to land #2. I had been stage cooling my engines and was at approximately 1800-2000 ft and 140 KTS with approach flaps when the aircraft rolled to the left and I found myself upside down, looking at the ground. I continued the roll and recovered on about a heading of 90 degrees at approximately 300-400 ft. I reported the encounter and landed. Then I called the tower to request the radar plot and tower tape be sent to my employer. At the same time I reported it to the company. It probably could have been avoided if I had not been sequenced after an overtaking jet.

Title: PLT OF AN SMT CARGO FLT HAS WAKE TURB ENCOUNTER WHICH CAUSES A ROLL TO UPSIDE DOWN WHILE ON FINAL APCH.
Narrative: SCHEDULED CARGO FLT FROM RBG TO EUG. CHKED IN WITH APCH 25 MI S AND WAS GIVEN SQUAWK. A FEW MINS LATER ACR AIRLINES CHKED IN AND I WAS GIVEN HIS POS BEHIND ME. LATER I WAS GIVEN ANOTHER POS '4 O'CLOCK AND 3 MI.' AT ABOUT 7000 FT I RPTED HIM IN SIGHT. ORIGINALLY MY ALT WAS 2500 FT AND I HAD DSNDED TO ABOUT 2000 FT AND WAS TOLD I WAS TO FOLLOW HIM TO THE ARPT #2. ABOUT 10 MI OUT WE WERE BOTH SWITCHED TO TWR AND I WAS AGAIN TOLD TO FOLLOW HIM CLRED TO LAND #2. I HAD BEEN STAGE COOLING MY ENGS AND WAS AT APPROX 1800-2000 FT AND 140 KTS WITH APCH FLAPS WHEN THE ACFT ROLLED TO THE L AND I FOUND MYSELF UPSIDE DOWN, LOOKING AT THE GND. I CONTINUED THE ROLL AND RECOVERED ON ABOUT A HDG OF 90 DEGS AT APPROX 300-400 FT. I RPTED THE ENCOUNTER AND LANDED. THEN I CALLED THE TWR TO REQUEST THE RADAR PLOT AND TWR TAPE BE SENT TO MY EMPLOYER. AT THE SAME TIME I RPTED IT TO THE COMPANY. IT PROBABLY COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED IF I HAD NOT BEEN SEQUENCED AFTER AN OVERTAKING JET.
