Narrative:
Dispatch release stated 'filed on VHF route.' we have no way of verifying if our route requires HF radio or not. Coming up on broom intersection, mia oceanic attempted to hand us off to new york oceanic via HF. We advised them we were not HF capable. They arranged for us to pass from broom to jainy on VHF and maintain contact through other aircraft. We need some way during flight planning to determine if route needs HF radio.
