After takeoff, following a B777, reported 5 mi separation, experienced rapid roll to right at approximately 300-400 ft, requiring aileron and rudder to return to wings level. Wind was calm. MD80 aircraft was flaps 6 degrees and within 5000 pounds of maximum gross takeoff weight. Subsequent climb normal.
