Narrative:

B757 was on ILS approach to jfk runway 4R. We were fast on approach due to 'slam dunk' and quick turn on. We were not configured for landing at 1000 ft. This caused a 'too low- terrain' and 'pull up.' the captain initiated a missed approach which I called to the tower. We were given heading 130 degrees and altitude of 2000 ft. During the turn, we got a 'traffic, traffic!' followed by 'climb, climb now!' at this point, I saw the A300 just below and just ahead of us. I told the captain 'stop your turn, there's an airplane right under us.' the A300 pulled ahead of us, we continued the turn to 130 degrees. We were vectored back out to another approach to an uneventful landing on runway 4R.

Narrative: B757 WAS ON ILS APCH TO JFK RWY 4R. WE WERE FAST ON APCH DUE TO 'SLAM DUNK' AND QUICK TURN ON. WE WERE NOT CONFIGURED FOR LNDG AT 1000 FT. THIS CAUSED A 'TOO LOW- TERRAIN' AND 'PULL UP.' THE CAPT INITIATED A MISSED APCH WHICH I CALLED TO THE TWR. WE WERE GIVEN HDG 130 DEGS AND ALT OF 2000 FT. DURING THE TURN, WE GOT A 'TFC, TFC!' FOLLOWED BY 'CLB, CLB NOW!' AT THIS POINT, I SAW THE A300 JUST BELOW AND JUST AHEAD OF US. I TOLD THE CAPT 'STOP YOUR TURN, THERE'S AN AIRPLANE RIGHT UNDER US.' THE A300 PULLED AHEAD OF US, WE CONTINUED THE TURN TO 130 DEGS. WE WERE VECTORED BACK OUT TO ANOTHER APCH TO AN UNEVENTFUL LNDG ON RWY 4R.
