Narrative:
I requested that my best friend and business partner drop me off at a private airstrip to pick up a PA18-180 for delivery to lvs. I took off and flew around for a while then when returning to the airport I noticed a dark colored vehicle approaching the airport along the access road. I thought the vehicle to be driven by my friend who was to pick me up at the airport. I decided to fly by my friend and wave the wings prior to landing, however, when approximately 1/4 mi away I noticed that it was not the vehicle my friend was driving so I returned to the airport and landed without incident. The access road to the airport is a 2 lane paved road through an open field used for grazing of cattle and is approximately 2 mi long and has no homes or houses, or other improvements on or near it. At no time, other than the approach to land at the airport, do I believe that the aircraft was less than 50 ft above the surface and once the vehicle was idented as not my friend's I turned and climbed so as to not provide a hazard to any vehicle. It may have been poor judgement for having done what some might have considered a 'buzz' job and I shall not do it again!

Title: PA18-180 SUPER CUB PLT SIGHTS A 'FAMILIAR' CAR ON THE ROAD AND DECIDES TO FLY BY AND WAVE. IT IS THE WRONG CAR. PLT PULLS UP AND LANDS AT ARPT.
Narrative: I REQUESTED THAT MY BEST FRIEND AND BUSINESS PARTNER DROP ME OFF AT A PVT AIRSTRIP TO PICK UP A PA18-180 FOR DELIVERY TO LVS. I TOOK OFF AND FLEW AROUND FOR A WHILE THEN WHEN RETURNING TO THE ARPT I NOTICED A DARK COLORED VEHICLE APCHING THE ARPT ALONG THE ACCESS ROAD. I THOUGHT THE VEHICLE TO BE DRIVEN BY MY FRIEND WHO WAS TO PICK ME UP AT THE ARPT. I DECIDED TO FLY BY MY FRIEND AND WAVE THE WINGS PRIOR TO LNDG, HOWEVER, WHEN APPROX 1/4 MI AWAY I NOTICED THAT IT WAS NOT THE VEHICLE MY FRIEND WAS DRIVING SO I RETURNED TO THE ARPT AND LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. THE ACCESS ROAD TO THE ARPT IS A 2 LANE PAVED ROAD THROUGH AN OPEN FIELD USED FOR GRAZING OF CATTLE AND IS APPROX 2 MI LONG AND HAS NO HOMES OR HOUSES, OR OTHER IMPROVEMENTS ON OR NEAR IT. IT MAY HAVE BEEN POOR JUDGEMENT FOR HAVING DONE WHAT SOME MIGHT HAVE CONSIDERED A 'BUZZ' JOB AND I SHALL NOT DO IT AGAIN!
