Narrative:
We were at cruise altitude of 6000 ft on radar vectors, a cessna 210 climbed from 5500 ft through our IFR altitude of 6000 ft. We received a TCASII RA warning and evasive action was taken with immediate descent. ATC reacted by clearing us to 5000 ft. TCASII prevented a serous problem.
