Student became disoriented on a cross country flight and landed on a highway. Student thought he was low on fuel and decided to land on highway. He was 10 mi from airport.

Title: STUDENT PLT IN A SMA SEL, ON A SOLO XCOUNTRY, MADE AN OFF ARPT PRECAUTIONARY LNDG ON A HWY DUE TO DISORIENTATION, AND THE BELIEF THAT HE WAS LOW ON FUEL. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE ACFT.
