Narrative:
Climb out from dtw, vectors to layne intersection, observed line of approximately 4 cells on radar, then visually, requested turn from departure, he said would coordinate on landline. Given turn to west, maximum rate. Encountered edge of first cell, hail. Damage done to radome, leading edges, and my windscreen cracked. Performed checklists, dumped fuel, coordinated with company and ATC, returned to dtw, landed without incident.
