Narrative:

While being radar vectored to the ILS runway 18R at cvg, we were cleared to descend to 4000 ft from 5000 ft. I gave the autoplt/flight director the command to descend to 4000 ft MSL. While navigating around a turbulent cloud mass, I noticed the autoplt failed to capture 4000 ft and continued to descend to approximately 3500 ft MSL. I immediately corrected the situation and climbed back up to 4000 ft MSL. ATC never mentioned the situation and the remaining flight was routine. Also, the WX was not as forecast.
