Narrative:
Btv ground control cleared us to taxi from gate pushback to runway 33. As we taxied down taxiway C towards runway 33, I slowed the taxi as we approached taxiway K. Realizing some txwys are weight limited, I looked down to my left to view my commercially printed airport diagram plate to see if taxiway K was weight restr. The left armrest of my seat blocked enough of the lower right portion of my plate to obscure the taxiway K note, but not the other taxiway notes on the upper left of the page. I then taxied down taxiway K to taxiway J, switched to tower and we departed. Neither ground control nor tower commented. It is my opinion and view, that all weight restr txwys should be listed together in a common area on the plate, instead of scattered all about. Centralization of this information would present it all in one location. In addition, appropriately placed signs warning of a weight limitation or a different colored taxiway sign for weight restr areas would prove of valuable assistance.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A B737 FLC TAXIED ONTO A WT RESTR TXWY AND DISCOVERED THE ERROR AFTER THE FACT. THE CAPT DID NOT SEE THE NOTE ABOUT THE RESTR BECAUSE IT WAS NOT INCLUDED WITH THE OTHER TXWY INFO, AND HIS ARMREST WAS BLOCKING THE LOWER R PORTION OF THE DIAGRAM WHERE THE RESTR WAS LOCATED.
Narrative: BTV GND CTL CLRED US TO TAXI FROM GATE PUSHBACK TO RWY 33. AS WE TAXIED DOWN TXWY C TOWARDS RWY 33, I SLOWED THE TAXI AS WE APCHED TXWY K. REALIZING SOME TXWYS ARE WT LIMITED, I LOOKED DOWN TO MY L TO VIEW MY COMMERCIALLY PRINTED ARPT DIAGRAM PLATE TO SEE IF TXWY K WAS WT RESTR. THE L ARMREST OF MY SEAT BLOCKED ENOUGH OF THE LOWER R PORTION OF MY PLATE TO OBSCURE THE TXWY K NOTE, BUT NOT THE OTHER TXWY NOTES ON THE UPPER L OF THE PAGE. I THEN TAXIED DOWN TXWY K TO TXWY J, SWITCHED TO TWR AND WE DEPARTED. NEITHER GND CTL NOR TWR COMMENTED. IT IS MY OPINION AND VIEW, THAT ALL WT RESTR TXWYS SHOULD BE LISTED TOGETHER IN A COMMON AREA ON THE PLATE, INSTEAD OF SCATTERED ALL ABOUT. CENTRALIZATION OF THIS INFO WOULD PRESENT IT ALL IN ONE LOCATION. IN ADDITION, APPROPRIATELY PLACED SIGNS WARNING OF A WT LIMITATION OR A DIFFERENT COLORED TXWY SIGN FOR WT RESTR AREAS WOULD PROVE OF VALUABLE ASSISTANCE.
