Narrative:
Captain flying. ATC issued a heading of 280 degrees to intercept the bonvl 3 arrival. I started a descent to FL280 first officer noticed the error. I climbed immediately to FL350. ATC questioned our altitude. We replied, FL350.

Title: AN ACR MD80 FLC CONFUSES AN ASSIGNED HDG FOR AN ALT ASSIGNMENT AND STARTS A DSCNT FOR FL280. THE FO CORRECTS AND HE RETURNS TO FL350 IMMEDIATELY.
