Narrative:
After crossing FAF inbound to thv, gear selector was placed down. Only the nose and left main gear green lights illuminated and the red unlocked light was on. We recycled the gear but the indications were the same. We terminated the approach and orbited northeast of the field and executed the appropriate emergency checklist per the flight manual. After executing the checklist, we contacted harrisburg approach to get vectors to mdt. While en route we called local FBO to relay message to our home base. We executed an ILS at mdt with low approach to verify that the landing gear was down. According to the tower the landing gear appeared to be down. We made a right traffic pattern and landed uneventfully. Upon touching down the right main gear light came on, indicating that the gear light switch was stuck. A mechanic replaced the switch. We requested to have emergency vehicles standing by, however, we never verbally declared an emergency.

Title: SMT ACFT HAD UNSAFE GEAR INDICATION FOR R MAIN, BROKE OFF APCH, ORBITED ARPT DOING EMER CHKLIST. UNABLE TO OBTAIN A SAFE INDICATION, PLT DIVERTED TO ANOTHER ARPT. AFTER LNDG THE GEAR LIGHT CAME ON INDICATIVE OF A STUCK SWITCH.

WE RECYCLED THE GEAR BUT THE INDICATIONS WERE THE SAME. WE TERMINATED THE APCH AND ORBITED NE OF THE FIELD AND EXECUTED THE APPROPRIATE EMER CHKLIST PER THE FLT MANUAL. AFTER EXECUTING THE CHKLIST, WE CONTACTED HARRISBURG APCH TO GET VECTORS TO MDT. WHILE ENRTE WE CALLED LCL FBO TO RELAY MESSAGE TO OUR HOME BASE. WE EXECUTED AN ILS AT MDT WITH LOW APCH TO VERIFY THAT THE LNDG GEAR WAS DOWN. ACCORDING TO THE TWR THE LNDG GEAR APPEARED TO BE DOWN. WE MADE A R TFC PATTERN AND LANDED UNEVENTFULLY. UPON TOUCHING DOWN THE R MAIN GEAR LIGHT CAME ON, INDICATING THAT THE GEAR LIGHT SWITCH WAS STUCK. A MECH REPLACED THE SWITCH. WE REQUESTED TO HAVE EMER VEHICLES STANDING BY, HOWEVER, WE NEVER VERBALLY DECLARED AN EMER.
