Narrative:
FAA ramp check discovered what he thought were loose nose steering cables on aircraft. After inspection and comparing them to another B737-300 on the next gate over, it appeared that they were not as tight. There was no history of problems with nose steering at that time. I programmed for nose steering system adjustment check for the next overnight layover. It was 1 week later when they were adjusted.
