Narrative:
I was part of a crew that performed a routine maintenance check (a-ck) on aircraft abc (B757). On this particular day, my job was to perform routine maintenance on engine #2. After completion of this job, the maintenance manual requires a 5 min engine run for leak check. To facilitate this, I assisted by pulling some of the safety pins (gear pins, etc) during which I noticed some pins were already removed. I then proceeded to the nose gear where I performed a quick inspection of the nose gear area where I removed the gear door safety pin and nosewheel steering bypass pin. From my vantage point in front of the gear, I did not notice the nose gear pin still installed. The engines were then run and leak checked and the aircraft towed to a remote parking area to make way for a departing flight. I feel that time was a contributing factor. I currently hold a&P certificates.

Title: A B757 WAS UNABLE TO RETRACT THE NOSE GEAR AFTER TKOF BECAUSE OF NOSE GEAR SAFETY DOWNLOCK PIN STILL INSTALLED.
Narrative: I WAS PART OF A CREW THAT PERFORMED A ROUTINE MAINT CHK (A-CK) ON ACFT ABC (B757). ON THIS PARTICULAR DAY, MY JOB WAS TO PERFORM ROUTINE MAINT ON ENG #2. AFTER COMPLETION OF THIS JOB, THE MAINT MANUAL REQUIRES A 5 MIN ENG RUN FOR LEAK CHK. TO FACILITATE THIS, I ASSISTED BY PULLING SOME OF THE SAFETY PINS (GEAR PINS, ETC) DURING WHICH I NOTICED SOME PINS WERE ALREADY REMOVED. I THEN PROCEEDED TO THE NOSE GEAR WHERE I PERFORMED A QUICK INSPECTION OF THE NOSE GEAR AREA WHERE I REMOVED THE GEAR DOOR SAFETY PIN AND NOSEWHEEL STEERING BYPASS PIN. FROM MY VANTAGE POINT IN FRONT OF THE GEAR, I DID NOT NOTICE THE NOSE GEAR PIN STILL INSTALLED. THE ENGS WERE THEN RUN AND LEAK CHKED AND THE ACFT TOWED TO A REMOTE PARKING AREA TO MAKE WAY FOR A DEPARTING FLT. I FEEL THAT TIME WAS A CONTRIBUTING FACTOR. I CURRENTLY HOLD A&P CERTIFICATES.
