Narrative:
Issued taxi instructions for departure on runway 21C at dtw -- proceeded down taxiway M. At the arch of the hammerhead at the approach end of runway 21C, we mistakenly taxied past the last turn to access the runway. We stopped, notified ground that we had missed the turn and told him that we didn't think we were going to be able to do a 180 degree turn. He told us to continue down taxiway J over to taxiway P, which we did, uneventfully, and departed on runway 21C.
