Narrative:

While doing some taxi practice at hitchock field in maplecrest, ny, with my PA12-150 piper cub cruiser, I was taxiing a little faster than I should have on wet grass, I was distracted and applied brakes. Piper cub brakes are notoriously poor at best and I was unable to avoid a trench and put the cub on its nose bending 1 propeller blade. The damage was minimal and there was no other damage or injury. I was not injured. The ELT was activated and the civil air patrol investigated and deactivated it. Civil air patrol lt X was the officer notified. The ground taxi occurrence was reported to FAA inspector of albany fisdo on sep/xx/96, at XX00 hours local time.
