Narrative:
Md super 80 altitude deviation. I (captain) was hand flying. I thought we had been cleared to a higher altitude and did not observe the altitude warning light. We climbed through 13700 ft before leveling and returning to assigned altitude. ATC said nothing. First officer did not make 1000 ft callout, and I was concentrating on heading and airspeed. Also, it was my first leg back from vacation, without having flown for a month.
