Narrative:
Proceeding direct ftz for trake 7 arrival stl. On initial contact with approach control, first officer and I both understood expect runway 30L and turn right to heading 125 degrees. After turn completed, ATC issued left turn to 060 degrees and reintercept trake arrival. Controller informed us the turn to 125 degrees was supposed to be at snyder intersection. Suspect poor quality of communication reception may have contributed to not hearing clearance correctly. Both pilots heard same instruction and readback with no challenge from ATC.
