Narrative:
There is a flashing light source on ground, possibly near forest fair or another shopping mall west of I-75 on I-275, that shines into the cockpit while flying downwind on vectors for ILS runway 18L. It flashes once, then a couple of times, pauses, and then repeats. It is not a rotating search light. It is distracting and potentially hazardous. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter states that he has not heard of any follow-up. The tower thought the light might be a laser light coming from a house. Reporter said it did not look like a laser to him but he had never looked directly into a laser light either. This might not be a problem any more. The last time he was into cvg he did not see the light.

Title: FLC COMPLAINT REGARDING A BLINDING LIGHT ON DOWNWIND WHICH FLASHES INTERMITTENTLY, THEN PAUSES, THEN REPEATS THE CYCLE.
Narrative: THERE IS A FLASHING LIGHT SOURCE ON GND, POSSIBLY NEAR FOREST FAIR OR ANOTHER SHOPPING MALL W OF I-75 ON I-275, THAT SHINES INTO THE COCKPIT WHILE FLYING DOWNWIND ON VECTORS FOR ILS RWY 18L. IT FLASHES ONCE, THEN A COUPLE OF TIMES, PAUSES, AND THEN REPEATS. IT IS NOT A ROTATING SEARCH LIGHT. IT IS DISTRACTING AND POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATES THAT HE HAS NOT HEARD OF ANY FOLLOW-UP. THE TWR THOUGHT THE LIGHT MIGHT BE A LASER LIGHT COMING FROM A HOUSE. RPTR SAID IT DID NOT LOOK LIKE A LASER TO HIM BUT HE HAD NEVER LOOKED DIRECTLY INTO A LASER LIGHT EITHER. THIS MIGHT NOT BE A PROB ANY MORE. THE LAST TIME HE WAS INTO CVG HE DID NOT SEE THE LIGHT.
