Narrative:
Location: yxh/312/10. We were at FL350 and were supposed to intercept the 271 degree radial, J547, to intercept the 312/132 of yyc inbound. Instead, we misread and intercepted the 312 degree radial of medicine hat/yxh, that put us toward a restr zone. As we discovered the error ATC called us with a vector so we could avert entering the restr zone, and got us back on course. The switching of high altitude maps and our misreading and more importantly each verifying the actual clearance and headings, these series of events led to this error and we shall resolve to be more vigilant in the future. We did not enter the restr airspace.
