Narrative:
En route to hmv, aircraft cleared direct mhv by ZTL. FMS dumped arrival waypoint after being cleared direct. Center queried our route to clarify the situation. Deviation was minimal but confusing. FMS dependent pilots should verify rtes after every route change and execution.

Narrative: ENRTE TO HMV, ACFT CLRED DIRECT MHV BY ZTL. FMS DUMPED ARR WAYPOINT AFTER BEING CLRED DIRECT. CTR QUERIED OUR RTE TO CLARIFY THE SIT. DEV WAS MINIMAL BUT CONFUSING. FMS DEPENDENT PLTS SHOULD VERIFY RTES AFTER EVERY RTE CHANGE AND EXECUTION.
