Narrative:
On approach to runway 22 at esn, struck street light. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter states that he was making a normal approach and did not realize there was a problem until he heard a bang. He made a go around and requested an aircraft ready for takeoff to look over the underside of the pitts. Pilot stated there was no visible indication of a problem. Reporter then made a normal pattern and landed. Damage was to the right tire and brake calipers. A story of the incident was printed in the local paper with the note that this was a non reportable incident. A local citizen took exception to that comment and called the local FSDO and wrote to his senator. Naturally the FSDO had to follow up and reporter took his 609 ride. The city charged reporter to replace the street light!
